Comprehensive Compactor Cleaning and Maintenance

Over time, dirty, flammable sludge builds up inside compactors, releasing noxious odours and methane gas. Regular compactor cleaning is essential to prolong the life of your machine and should be included in your preventative maintenance schedule.

As safety is a top priority, Metro Jet Wash employs a strict “Lock-out Tag-out” system. Our trained personnel will only enter the compactor to begin the dry cleaning process with hand scrapers after receiving confirmation that the fire system has been put on “test.”

Once dry cleaning is complete, we cover all electrical equipment and apply degreasers. We then use a pressure washer to thoroughly clean the inside of the compactor and the surrounding area. Finally, we neutralize excess odours with our MJW Odour Solutions products (available for purchase on Shop MJW), ensuring a fresh and clean finish.

No matter the height or layout of your building, MJW has the specialized equipment to get the job done right. We utilize a powerful 12-inch or 14-inch rotating chute cleaner, hooked up to our custom 3500 PSI pressure washing system. This setup allows us to systematically blast away stubborn residue and thoroughly sanitize the entire length of the chute from top to bottom.

Throughout the process, we use heavy-duty, environmentally friendly, and fully biodegradable degreasers. Combined with our specialized odour control products, this safe yet highly effective approach breaks down built-up grime, grease, and bacteria, completely neutralizing foul smells at the source rather than just masking them.

To ensure your system is functioning properly and safely, we also offer visual inspections of the chute liner, fire damper, and individual garbage chute door flaps upon request. For a more comprehensive refresh of your waste disposal areas, our team can also provide detailed, localized cleaning of the chute doors and the surrounding hallway walls on every floor

Next, we perform an intensive, high-pressure power wash. Using specialized equipment and heavy-duty, biodegradable degreasers, we systematically break down tough grime, grease, and stubborn buildup.
